Grant B2B-Direct credit to a tenant
Let a tenant buy from you on credit: set a limit, record the contract, and from then on the tenant's orders with you are charged to that line instead of its wallet.
Before you start#
- You are a Merchant Owner or Merchant Admin.
- You have agreed the credit terms with the tenant. The platform records the line; the tenant pays you outside the platform, typically by bank transfer.
- What a credit account is and how it works is on B2B-Direct credit accounts.
Steps#
- In the sidebar's Finance section, open B2B Credit Accounts.
- Click Grant Credit Line.
- Under Credit line:
- Tenant — choose the tenant (Select a tenant);
- Currency — leave VND. The line is used only for orders in its own currency, and orders are in VND;
- Credit limit — the most the tenant may owe you; zero or more. A limit of zero still switches the pair to B2B-Direct, so every order between you is refused until you raise it.
- Under Contract details, optionally enter the Contract number, Contract signed date, Contract expired date and a Note.
- Click Grant Credit Line. You land on the new account with "B2B credit line granted successfully."
What happens next#
- The account is Active with your limit, and the tenant's orders with you are now charged to it: granting the line also switches your pair with that tenant to B2B-Direct, in the same step. See Wallet and B2B-Direct settlement between a tenant and a merchant.
- Platform operators are told that B2B-Direct routing was activated for the pair.
- The tenant's owners, admins, supervisors and accountants can now see the line under B2B Credit Accounts; see Check your B2B-Direct credit with a merchant.
- As the tenant orders, the account's Outstanding rises; when you receive a transfer, record it; see Adjust a B2B-Direct credit limit or record a payment.
Rules and limits#
- One active line per tenant and currency: a second grant is refused, and you change the limit with Adjust Limit instead.
- The contract dates are for your records; the line is not blocked when the expiry date passes.
- An order that exceeds the available credit cannot go through, and no supervisor can override it: a refuel order is set to Blocked, a work or purchase order cannot complete; see Payment block and refusal reasons.
- Only the platform operator suspends or closes a line.
If something goes wrong#
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "This tenant already has an active … credit line with you. Use Adjust Limit instead." | A line already exists in that currency. | Open the account and use Adjust Limit. |
| "Your account is not linked to a merchant, so a credit line cannot be granted." | You are not signed in as a merchant user. | Sign in with your merchant account. |
| "Ensure this value is greater than or equal to 0." | A negative limit. | Enter zero or more. |
| No Grant Credit Line button | Your role cannot grant credit. | Ask a Merchant Owner or Admin. |
