Store locations map

Reference

The Stores Map shows stores as pins on a map, on the web portal and in the Driver App. Each viewer sees only the stores they are entitled to; clicking a pin shows the store's photo, hours, accepted orders, fuels and a link to Google Maps.

Overview#

The map shows one pin per store that has a map location; a store without one is left off. Pins load for the part of the map in view and reload as the viewer pans or zooms. Which stores a fleet may see is decided by the store visibility rules, see Which stores tenants and drivers can see; how a store gets its location and photo is on Store locations and photos.

Where to find it#

SurfaceEntry point
Web portalStores Map in the menu, for every user who can see stores
Driver AppThe map button (Open stores map) on the home screen opens the Stores Map screen

Who sees which pins#

ViewerPins shownVisibility status on pins
Tenant users (Tenant Owner, Admin, Supervisor, Accountant)Only the stores visible to their tenantNo
Drivers, in the Driver AppOnly the stores visible to the driver's tenant, less any store the driver cannot pay at; see Which stores tenants and drivers can see. The exclusion of unpayable stores comes fromNo
Merchant usersThe merchant's own stores; a Merchant Supervisor sees only the stores assigned to themYes
Platform administratorsEvery active store, with a Tenant selector that narrows the map to one tenant's country (All tenants by default)Yes

The scope is enforced by the platform, whatever part of the map is in view: a tenant or driver can never receive a store that is not visible to them.

The visibility status#

For merchants and platform administrators, pins come in two styles, explained by a Legend: Visible to tenants and Not visible to tenants. Whether fleets actually see a store is decided by the conditions on Which stores tenants and drivers can see.

Loading pins#

  • A single view shows at most 500 pins. When more stores fall in view, the map shows "Zoom in to see all stores" with the number in the area instead of dropping them silently.
  • Pins reload shortly after the viewer stops panning or zooming, not on every movement.
  • On the web, nearby pins group into clusters at low zoom.
  • On the web, an open popup stays open when the map moves under it, and closes only when its store drops out of the results, for example when a fuel filter excludes it.
  • In the Driver App the map opens centred on the driver, about 20 km across, with a My location marker. Without the driver's location it shows a default area: "Location unavailable — showing a default area. Pan to your region."

The pin popup#

Clicking a pin opens a popup on the web, and a sheet in the Driver App.

ItemShown
PhotoThe store's photo above the name, when it has one; no empty frame otherwise. A merchant logo is shown whole rather than cropped
Name, merchant, addressAlways. On the web the name links to the store's detail page
StatusOn the web Open now, Closing soon, Closed or Operating hours not configured; in the Driver App Open, Closing soon, Closed or Hours not set. Tenants and drivers never see a store without hours, since such stores are hidden from them
Hours lineUnder the status, such as Open 24h, "Closes at 21:00" or "Reopens tomorrow at 09:00"; the rules are on Store operating hours and open status
DistanceDriver App only, "2.3 km from you", when the map is centred on the driver's own location
Order typesChips for the orders the store accepts: Refuel, Purchase and Work on the web; Refuel, Purchase and Service in the Driver App
FuelsFuel sold: the fuels the store currently sells
VisibilityMerchants and platform administrators only
Open in Google MapsOpens the store's coordinates in Google Maps: a new browser tab on the web, the Google Maps app on a phone when it is installed

In the Driver App the sheet scrolls when its content is long, and Open in Google Maps stays visible. The map is for browsing: neither popup offers to place an order.

Fuel filter#

  • Web: a Fuel bar of chips above the map. Choosing one or more fuels shows only the stores that sell any of them, for every viewer; Clear removes the filter. Fuels no longer active are marked "(inactive)", and the bar is hidden when no store sells any fuel. A link to the map can carry a fuel choice, which is pre-selected when the page opens.
  • Driver App: one fuel at a time, with All fuels to clear it. The choice is shared with the nearby-stores list and the refuel store picker, and with a fuel chosen the map shows only stores that sell it and accept refuel orders.

The steps are on Find stores that sell a fuel.

When the map cannot load#

SituationWhat the viewer sees
The map is not set up for the siteA notice that the map is unavailable, in place of the map
The map fails to start or is blocked"Map failed to initialize. Please reload the page." instead of a blank box
Pins fail to load"Map data could not be loaded. Please try again." when the request does not get through, or "Map data could not be loaded. Please refresh and sign in again." when it is refused; the pins are cleared
Driver App: map not available on the installed app"The map isn't available on this build. Store details are still available from your orders."
Driver App: first load fails"Couldn't load stores for this area." with Retry. A later failed reload keeps the pins already shown
Driver App: no store in view sells the chosen fuelA hint to zoom out or clear the filter
