Holiday calendar
The Holiday Calendar shows your country's public holidays and your company's own holidays on one month grid. Your company can choose to work on a public holiday in a given year by skipping it.
Overview#
There are two kinds of holiday. Public holidays are set by the platform for each country and shared by every company in that country; company holidays are extra days off that one company adds for itself. The screens call company holidays tenant holidays, for example Tenant holiday in the legend. The Holidays menu opens the Holiday Calendar, which shows both kinds together, a month at a time. A company that works on a public holiday can skip it for that year only.
Holiday fields#
Public and company holidays have the same fields.
| Field | What it holds | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The holiday's name | Required |
| Date | The day of the holiday | Required. A company holds at most one holiday per date |
| Year | The year of a one-off holiday | Optional. Ignored for recurring holidays; for a one-off holiday, leave it empty or use the date's year |
| Description | Notes | Optional |
| Is recurring | Whether the holiday repeats every year on the same day and month | See below |
The company-holiday form has no company field: a holiday is always added to your own company.
Recurring and one-off holidays#
- A recurring holiday is stored once and appears every year on the same day and month. This applies to public and company holidays alike.
- A recurring holiday on 29 February appears on 28 February in years that are not leap years.
- A one-off holiday appears only on its own date. Holidays that move with the lunar calendar are entered as one-off holidays for each year.
The calendar#
| Day marker (legend) | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Public holiday | A public holiday your company observes |
| Tenant holiday | One of your company's own holidays |
| Skipped public holiday | A public holiday your company works on this year, shown struck through |
A day can carry more than one marker, today's date is highlighted, and a month without holidays shows an empty grid with the legend. Arrows move one month or one year back or forward.
To add, edit, delete, skip or restore holidays from the calendar, see Manage company holidays on the calendar.
Skipping a public holiday#
- A skip means "we work this day". It applies to one occurrence year: skipping a holiday in 2026 leaves it observed in 2027.
- A skipped holiday stays on the calendar, struck through, so it can be restored. Restoring it makes it a holiday again for that year.
- Outside the calendar, a skipped holiday no longer appears in your company's holiday feed for that year, which other systems read through the platform's API. Driver working shifts do not read holidays.
- Company holidays cannot be skipped; edit or delete them instead.
- A company can skip only public holidays of its own country.
- Skipping and restoring are recorded in the audit log, as are adding, changing and deleting company holidays.
- A company with no country set has no public holidays on its calendar and nothing to skip.
