Manage company holidays on the calendar

How-to guide Who can do this: Tenant Owner, Tenant Admin

Add your company's own holidays, change or remove them, and mark a public holiday as a working day for one year, all from the Holiday Calendar.

Before you start#

  • You need to be a Tenant Owner or Tenant Admin. Other company roles cannot open the calendar.
  • Open Holidays, under the Tenants section of the menu, to reach the Holiday Calendar.
  • Move between months and years with the arrows at the top. What the day markers mean: Holiday calendar.

Steps#

Add a company holiday#

  1. Hover over (or tap) a day of the shown month and click the + button ("Add holiday").
  2. The New Tenant Holiday form opens with that date filled in.
  3. Enter a Name. Optionally add a Description, and tick Is recurring if the holiday falls on the same day every year. Leave Year empty; it is ignored for recurring holidays.
  4. Click Save. The page shows "Holiday created successfully." and returns to the calendar's current month; if you changed the date to another month, move to that month to see it.

Edit or delete a company holiday#

  1. Hover over (or tap) the day, then click Edit on the holiday, or its trash icon ("Delete").
  2. To edit: change the fields on Edit Tenant Holiday and click Save ("Holiday updated successfully."). You land on the holiday's details page.
  3. To delete: confirm with Yes, delete ("Holiday deleted successfully."). Deleting is permanent; there is no restore for company holidays.

Work on a public holiday this year#

  1. Hover over (or tap) the day, then click Skip this year on the public holiday.
  2. Confirm the message "Skip this holiday? It will count as a working day this year."
  3. The page shows "Public holiday skipped — it now counts as a working day." and the holiday is struck through.

To undo it, hover over the day and click Restore holiday on the struck-through holiday ("Public holiday restored — it is observed again.").

What happens next#

  • A skipped public holiday counts as a working day for that year only; the same holiday is observed again the next year.
  • A skipped holiday leaves the holiday list the platform gives to connected apps for your company for that year at once, and comes back when restored.
  • Adding, changing, deleting, skipping and restoring are all recorded in the audit log.

Rules and limits#

  • Public holidays cannot be edited or deleted by a company; you can only skip or restore them.
  • A company holiday is always added to your own company; the form has no company field.
  • The + button appears only on days of the month being shown; the form's Date can be any date.
  • A company holds at most one holiday per date.
