GPS logs and daily summaries
Every GPS point a provider reports for your vehicles is stored as a GPS log. The GPS Logs page shows one summary row per vehicle per day, built from those points.
Overview#
The platform fetches GPS points from each connected provider and stores them, one record per vehicle per moment in time. From those points it keeps a daily summary for each vehicle: how many points, how far, how fast, and the temperature and fuel range. The GPS Logs page lists these daily summaries, not the individual points; each row opens the route for that vehicle and day. What a vehicle records depends on its provider; see GPS providers.
GPS log fields#
One GPS log is one point reported by the provider.
| Field | What it holds | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle | The vehicle the point belongs to | Matched through the vehicle's GPS external ID, its tracker's ID at the provider. A point for an ID that matches none of the company's vehicles is skipped |
| Recorded at | When the provider recorded the point | One point per vehicle per moment: a point that arrives twice is stored once |
| Latitude, longitude | Position | Required. A reading without a position is never stored as a GPS log |
| Speed | Speed in km/h | Optional |
| Heading | Direction of travel in degrees | Optional |
| Odometer (km) | The tracker's cumulative odometer | Optional; provider-specific |
| Address | Street address, when the provider supplies one | Blank otherwise |
| Temperature, Temperature 2 | Readings from up to two temperature sensors | Empty when the provider or vehicle has no sensor |
| Fuel level | Fuel sensor reading | Empty when the provider or vehicle has no fuel sensor |
| GPS provider | The provider that reported the point |
Ignition state has no field of its own. It is kept only inside the provider's original record.
Which vehicles are synced#
- Only active vehicles that have a GPS external ID are fetched from the provider.
- Some providers report distance only. Their distance feeds the vehicle's odometer estimate, but they create no GPS logs, even if they also send positions, and therefore no daily summaries. GPS providers lists which providers store points; see also Vehicle odometer.
Daily summary fields#
A daily summary is one row per vehicle per local calendar day (Vietnam time).
| Column (UI label) | What it shows | How it is worked out |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle | The vehicle's plate and model (plate only in the export); opens the vehicle's route for that day | |
| Tenant | The vehicle's company | Shown to platform staff only, on the page and in the export |
| Date | The day | Local calendar day |
| Points | Number of GPS points that day | Count of the day's GPS logs |
| Distance (km) | Distance driven that day | Highest minus lowest tracker odometer reading of the day. Empty when the day's points carry no odometer |
| Max speed | Highest speed that day | |
| Temp (min/max) | Lowest and highest reading of the first temperature sensor | "—" when the day has no readings |
| Fuel (min/max) | Lowest and highest fuel level | "—" when the day has no readings |
| Provider | The provider of the day's last point | "—" when unknown. When two providers reported on one day, the later one is shown |
The summary also records the day's first and last point times and average speed; these are not shown in the list.
Rules#
- A day's summary is refreshed after every GPS sync that brings in new points for that vehicle and day, so today's row grows during the day. A re-sync updates the existing row; there is never more than one row per vehicle per day.
- If refreshing a summary fails, the sync itself still succeeds and its points are kept.
- Temperature and fuel history exists only from the time the provider started sending it. Older days cannot be filled in later, so their telemetry columns stay empty.
- Company users see only their own company's vehicles; platform staff see every company.
The GPS Logs page#
- The page lists daily summaries, newest day first, 50 per page.
- The search box matches the vehicle plate, the provider name or the company name.
- The Excel export has one row per vehicle per day with the same columns as the list. It holds at most 5,000 rows; narrow the search to export the rest.
- Clicking a vehicle opens its route, temperature and fuel for that day. See Review a vehicle's route and telemetry for a day.

For company users the page also needs the GPS replay feature on the company's subscription plan; the Professional and Enterprise fleet plans include it. Platform staff are not subject to the plan check. Without it, the GPS Logs menu entry is hidden.
