Reading the ranked report charts

Reference

Five reports rank vehicles, merchants, tenants or SKUs in a horizontal bar chart. A short ranking shows every bar against an average line; a long one shows the top 20, says what the rest add up to, and adds a chart of how concentrated the money is.

Overview#

The ranked chart appears on Refuel by Vehicle, Spend by Vehicle, Spend by Merchant, Revenue by Tenant and Sales by SKU. It charts the same rows the table lists, largest first, with ties ordered by name; an unattributed row and the Sales by SKU work-order rows are never drawn as bars. The chart never has an "Others" bar. Refuel by Fuel Item and the single-SKU chart on Sales by SKU are time charts, not ranked charts. The reports themselves are listed on Operational reports.

Up to 60 entities: every bar#

  • Every entity is a bar.
  • Average line. With 3 or more bars, a vertical dashed line marks the average and is labelled, for example "Average ₫ 10.920.280". The average is over the vehicles, merchants, tenants or SKUs the table ranks, so it can differ from the headline total divided by their number where an unattributed row exists.
  • Above or below. On single-colour charts, bars at or above the average are solid and bars below it are outlined. On Spend by Vehicle, whose segments are coloured Fuel, Work orders and Purchases, the bars are not re-shaded and the line sits at the average total.
  • Tooltip. Name, value, share of the total and, with 3 or more bars, whether it is above or below the average. On Spend by Vehicle the tooltip lists each segment, then the total.
  • Merchant, tenant and SKU names longer than 24 characters are shortened on the chart; the tooltip and the table show them in full.

More than 60 entities: top 20, remainder and spread#

  • Top 20. Only the 20 largest are drawn. The average line is still the average over all entities, so it often sits left of every bar: all of the top 20 are above average.
  • Remainder line. A sentence under the chart says what the rest add up to, for example "+33 more vehicles · ₫ 259.104.900 (44.8% of the total) · ₫ 7.851.664 each on average". On Spend by Vehicle it also splits the rest into fuel, work orders and purchases, leaving out any that is zero. See all in the table jumps to the full table. The chart's own table of values ends with a row such as "Other 33 vehicles (not charted)".
  • Cumulative-share chart. A second card shows how the total is spread. Two sentences above it give the takeaway — how many entities make up half of the total, and how many make up 80% — and the curve plots the share of the total against the share of entities, largest first. A dashed diagonal labelled Even spread shows what an even split would look like; the higher the curve bows above it, the more concentrated the money.
  • Where an unattributed row exists — or, on Sales by SKU, work-order money — the cumulative chart says how much it leaves out, for example "Excludes ₫ 4.200.000 not linked to a merchant.".
  • The cumulative chart is not shown when any entity's value is negative (refunds larger than spend) or when the total is zero; the ranked chart and the remainder line still are.

Rules#

  • The choice between the two layouts is made again for every filter, period and metric, so a filter can move a report from one to the other.
  • With Liters or Quantity selected (Quantity is offered on Sales by SKU only when every SKU shown uses the same unit), the bars, average and curve use that measure; rows with zero still count in the average, as in the table.
  • The remainder's share is computed once from the totals, so it may differ by a fraction of a percent from adding up the rounded shares in the table.
  • Every chart has a text summary for screen readers, and View as table opens a table of its values; the cumulative chart's table has one row per tenth of the entities.
  • The chart layout does not affect the Excel export, which lists the table's rows up to the usual 5,000-row cap; see Export to Excel on list pages.
