Status badges, messages and confirmations
A coloured badge names a record's status, a short message confirms a save or a delete, and deleting a record asks before it proceeds.
Overview#
Lists and detail pages show status as a badge: a word and a small icon, in one of five colours. The same families are used in the dark theme. Where the badge sits on a detail page is on Record detail pages.
Status colours#
| Colour | What it groups | Labels |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Done, valid, or in force | Completed, Operational, Verified, Sent, Valid, OK, Activated, Confirmed, Settled, Created, Paid, Matched, Issued, Accepted, Finalized |
| Blue | In motion, or information | Pending, New, Processing, In progress, Read, Invoiced, Info, Reminder, Logged in, Refuel, Work Order, Subscription, Platform Fee, Requested, Initiated, Aggregated, Refund requested, Updated |
| Amber | Needs attention, and is not a hard stop | Retry, Rejected, Closing, Expired, Blocked, Expiring soon, Due soon, No price list, Partially paid, Adjustment, Needs Review, Disputed, Warning |
| Red | Stopped, failed, or removed | Cancelled, Canceled, Failed, Overdue, Reversed, Alert, Deleted, No Match |
| Grey | Not in force, or a neutral record | Draft, Inactive, No documents, No schedule, Locked, System, Inactivated, Logged out, Other, Top-up, Withdrawal, Unmatchable, Refunded, Void |
Rejected and Expired are amber. Refunded is grey. Sent is green and Read is blue. A card's own status line uses Active in green, and Inactive in grey, rather than the shared badge.
Messages#
A successful save or delete shows a short confirmation. It appears in a stack at the top of a narrow window and at the lower corner of a larger one. A success message has a green border, an error a red border, a warning an amber border, and a notice a blue border. Each message stays for 8 seconds, and it can be closed sooner. Resting the pointer on the stack pauses it; moving the pointer away starts another 8 seconds. The stack keeps the latest 20 messages.
A form that cannot be saved keeps the problem on the form, under the field that failed or at the top of the form. That problem is not repeated in the corner message.
Empty lists#
A list with no rows shows a short sentence for that list. When the person is allowed to add a row, the empty list also offers that action. A search or a filter that matches nothing is on Search, filter and sort a list.
Confirmations#
Deleting a record opens a confirmation page. The page names the record and asks whether to delete it. A vehicle's page is headed Confirm Deletion. A store's page is titled Delete Store. The confirming button is Yes, delete. Cancel leaves without deleting. On a vehicle or a store, Cancel returns to that record. Those pages also say This action cannot be undone..
Some other actions ask in the browser's confirmation box before they run. Deactivating a card asks Deactivate this card? It will stop authorising refuels. It stays listed and can be reactivated.. The buttons on a detail page are described on Record detail pages.
Error pages#
| Page | Heading | Go to Homepage |
|---|---|---|
| Access denied | Ops! Access Denied | Opens the dashboard |
| Not found | Ops! Page Not Found | Labelled Go to Homepage |
| Something went wrong on the server | Ops! Internal Server Error | Opens the dashboard |
