Record detail pages

Reference

Opening a record shows the same shape everywhere: a neutral header with its status and actions, then cards for the facts, photos, activity and notes that belong to that record.

Overview#

A detail page is one record — an order, a vehicle, a driver, a store, a company. The breadcrumb above the page names the list you came from and this record. The header does not repeat that name as its own title row. What this kind of record stores (line items, documents, payments, assignments) is described on that record's own page. This page is the layout those pages share.

The page is not divided into tabs. Related facts sit in cards down the page.

The header is a plain card. It does not change colour with the status. The status is a chip in the header, and only there. What the colours mean is on Status badges, messages and confirmations.

Under the chip, the header shows the one fact that identifies the decision, such as an amount, a plate or a name. A short subtitle can sit under it. Some headers include a copy control beside that fact. After a successful copy the icon changes to a check, labelled Copied.

These chips appear only when the record carries them:

ChipMeaning
AnomalySomething on the record was flagged.
ResolvedA flag was cleared.
Adjusted from invoiceThe figures were adjusted from an invoice.

Action buttons sit along the bottom of the header. They are the actions available for this record and this user. A page can place some of them behind More actions. When it does not, every action sits on the row.

Kind of actionWhat you see
Opens another pageA link, including Audit logs when you may view audit logs.
Runs immediatelyA button that submits.
Needs confirmationThe browser asks you to confirm before the button submits.
Needs a reasonThe button opens a panel. Reason is required, and the panel's submit button uses the action's own label.

Audit logs opens the full change list for this record. The page opens when you may view that kind of record, and the record is one you are allowed to see. How to read an entry is on Check who changed a record and when.

Cards#

Under the header, information sits in cards. A card's title is a short heading, and the body is the rows for that topic. A long list can be shortened so the first portion shows and the rest stays closed until you expand it.

A card that would only say "none" is handled in one of two ways. If a reader might not know the feature exists, the card stays and says so in one line. If the absence is obvious, the card is left out. The header never depends on photos.

Photos#

The photo card is shown when the record has photos. It is left out when there are none, unless that page chooses to say No photos yet. The count reads as a number plus photos. Selecting a photo opens it larger, with View photo as the accessible name when the photo has none of its own. On a purchase order the card is titled Evidence photos.

Recent activity#

The activity card lists events newest first. Up to 50 are loaded. The first 5 are visible. Show all (N) opens the rest, where N is the total, and Collapse closes them.

The card is titled Recent activity on a vehicle, a driver, a store, a refuel order and a work order. On a purchase order it is titled History. If a page sets no title, the card reads History.

Each event is a short verb, who did it, and the time. On a refuel order or a work order the events are that order's audit entries. When no person is recorded, the line says System. When that order has no audit entries, the card does not invent a person. It shows the order's own dates instead, and this caption:

No audit history was recorded for this record. The events above are reconstructed from its own timestamps and have no attributed actor.

A vehicle or a driver also lists related orders and documents, not only changes to the record itself. A store also lists related orders and device changes. When no person is recorded, a vehicle says Automated, a driver says Automatic update, and a store says Automated update.

When there is nothing to show at all, the card reads No activity yet.. The audit page, opened from Audit logs, says this when it is empty:

No audit entries have been recorded for this record yet. Audit entries appear here once a tracked change is made.

A search on that page that matches nothing reads No results match your filters..

Notes#

Records that carry notes show a notes area on the same page: a box with the placeholder Add a note... and a button Add Note. Notes already saved are listed with the note, who wrote it and when. When there are none, the list reads No notes yet.. Adding, editing and who can see a note are on Add a note to a record.
