Add or replace a vehicle's Petrolimex QR

How-to guide Who can do this: Tenant Owner, Tenant Admin, Platform Operator

Petrolimex gives each vehicle a fixed QR code. Enter it on the vehicle in the web portal, as its text, its image or both, so the Driver App can show it to the attendant at the Petrolimex stations your company buys from.

Before you start#

• Role: Tenant Owner or Tenant Admin for your own company's vehicles; a Platform Operator can do it for any company's vehicle.
• Petrolimex ID credential: the Petrolimex QR card appears on the vehicle page only when your company has a Petrolimex ID credential set up, active or paused. See Set up your Petrolimex ID credential.
• A Petrolimex merchant you can buy from: to add a QR, your company must be able to transact with at least one Petrolimex merchant. Otherwise there is no Manage QR button, and when no QR is saved yet the card reads No Petrolimex-type merchants configured yet. See Which stores tenants and drivers can see.
• An active vehicle: the card's buttons are shown only on active vehicles.
• The QR itself: the decoded QR text from Petrolimex, a picture of the QR, or both.

Steps#

1. Go to Vehicles and open the vehicle. In the Petrolimex QR card, the Petrolimex row shows Configured or Not configured.
2. Click Manage QR. The Manage Petrolimex QR page opens.
3. Enter the QR text in QR payload, choose a picture in QR image, or both; the form notes "Provide a payload, an image, or both."
4. Click Save. You return to the vehicle page with Static QR saved., and the row shows Configured with the start of the text and a thumbnail of the image.

To replace a QR: click Manage QR again. The current text is filled in; change it, or upload a new image. The text is always saved as you leave it, while an image you do not replace stays as it is. Emptying QR payload removes the text and keeps the image; to remove the image, remove the QR and add it again.

To remove a QR: click Remove on the row and confirm Remove this static QR?. You see Static QR removed. The QR is deleted for good: to use it again, enter it again, and until then the vehicle cannot refuel at Petrolimex stations

What happens next#

• The same QR is used at every Petrolimex merchant your company buys from: one QR per vehicle, not one per merchant.
• When a driver of this vehicle refuels at a Petrolimex station, the Driver App shows this QR for the attendant to scan; see Refuel at a Petrolimex station.
• Each add, change and removal is recorded with your name; a save that changes nothing records nothing.
• Without a QR, the vehicle cannot place a Petrolimex refuel; see Refuelling at Petrolimex stations (static QR).

Rules and limits#

• Text, image or both. A QR needs at least one of them. Spaces around the text are removed, and the text can be up to 1,024 characters.
• Image size. The image must be a picture file of at most 10 MB.
• Removing after losing the merchant. If your company can no longer buy from any Petrolimex merchant, the QR row stays on the card and you can still remove it, but not change it.
• No credential, no card. If the Petrolimex ID credential is deleted, the card disappears, including any QR already saved; the QR itself is kept.
• Your own vehicles only. Company users see and change only their own company's vehicles.
